What the numbers on Finji mean and how they are made. Nothing here is investment advice.

Today's market verdict

After each Korean trading day Finji scores ten factors — five short-term, five long-term. Each factor adds +1, 0 or −1. A total of +2 or more is Good, −2 or less is Careful, anything between is Neutral. The chips under the verdict show every factor's value and sign, so the score can always be checked by hand.

A stock's market position

Every Korean stock (KOSPI and KOSDAQ, SPACs excluded) gets a percentile rank from 1 to 99 for its 1-, 3-, 6- and 12-month returns, measured against all other stocks on the same day. 99 means it beat almost every stock; 1 means it trailed almost all of them.

  • Composite weights the last three months twice: 0.4 × 3-month + 0.2 × 6-month + 0.2 × 9-month + 0.2 × 12-month return, then ranked.
  • 52-week high / low use the last 252 trading days including today. "New high" means today's high exceeded the previous 252-day high (stocks listed under 120 days are not counted).
  • Moving averages compare today's close with the 20-, 60- and 120-day simple averages.
  • Updated once a day after the close. The date shown on the card is the close it was computed from.

Glossary

Advancers / decliners
How many stocks closed up, down or unchanged. The bar shows the three shares of the whole market.
Limit-up / limit-down
Korean stocks can move at most ±30% a day. Finji counts ±29.5% or more as hitting the limit.
Trading value
Price × volume for the day — where the money actually went.
Execution strength
Buy-initiated volume divided by sell-initiated volume, ×100. Above 100 means buyers were more aggressive.
Investor flows
Net buying by foreigners, institutions and individuals. Positive = net bought.
Overnight reference price
An estimate of where a Korean stock would trade after hours, built from its NXT after-market price and related US-listed instruments (such as ADRs). A reference, not a quote.
NXT
Nextrade, Korea's alternative exchange with pre-market (08:00) and after-market (to 20:00) sessions.
VIX
The US volatility index. Below 18 is calm, above 25 is nervous — one of the short-term verdict factors.
Percentile
Where a value sits among all others, 1 to 99. 90 means higher than 90% of stocks.
Close betting / open betting
Short-term approaches that look for stocks to hold from the close into the next morning (close betting) or to enter right after the open (open betting). Finji lists candidates and the reasons; the decision is yours.
