S&P 500 To 8,000 While Oil Breaks Down To $80
About this video
Gareth Soloway, Chief Market Strategist at VerifiedInvesting.com, preps the stock market week ahead with a full technical breakdown of the S&P 500, crude oil, the ten-year yield, gold, silver, Bitcoin and three individual stocks on his radar.
Gareth opens on the S&P 500, showing the midpoint line at 7,575 that has been drawn on his chart for a month and separates the bullish zone from the neutral zone. He walks through why the hawkish Fed-statement sell-off that pierced that line was a fake-out, and why the descending bull flag that has since broken out keeps the bullish bias intact. His roadmap: a break above the 7,770 pivot, the 7,800 upper trend line by early October, and 8,000 by mid-October at the latest.
From there Gareth turns to the two charts he calls the most important of the week. Crude oil is building a bear flag off a down move and an inside bar, pointing toward $80 a barrel into the midterms. The ten-year yield printed the exact inverse structure and broke out, with the 5.25 to 5.27 percent pivot zone reachable as early as Monday before a pullback toward 5 percent. Gareth explains why those two moves have to happen for the S&P to reach his target, and how the pieces fit together.
He closes with gold and silver sitting on parallel-channel support, Bitcoin's higher high and the $81,000 buy level, Micron's gap fill lining up with the 78.6 percent Fibonacci, NVIDIA's no-bias wedge, and why he thinks Meta has topped.
